So, It is exactly 2 weeks now until my Final Ship driving exam. It has been
over 3 long years of study, self sacrifice and blood sweat and tears, but I am finally at the end of a very long training
program, feeling unconfident and shit scared about going out into the real world of driving ships and doing it on my own!
I cannot believe, providing I pass my exam, that in 2 weeks I will be qualified to drive the largest moving objects on this
planet.
So, what has been happening as of
Late.
Well I have been attempting to study
for my exam, but failing miserably. I am finding every other thing to do to get out of revising. I really need a good kick
up the arse lol.
But yeah, So whats happening towards
GTSE?
Well, mostly nothing because I have been focused on the big exam that's
coming up, so I don't want to put too much in the way before then. After this exam I will be putting all my effort
into getting the GTSE scripts finalised and copyrighted.
I have been saving money towards
my new PC, which I am hoping to spend around £1000 on, so that my installation of railworks will be an amazing one.
I already
have Fraps full version, and so the only thing left to get is Sony Vegas Pro which will have to wait until I have the cash
available.
The plan is also to get some origional theme music created for GTSE series two, so that it
can be released in its own right, and can be sold as a DVD.
I have some major visions for what GTSE
could be in the future, so hopefully it will come to fruition.
As for my external hard drive, I have managed
to get it working again by plugging it directly into my motherboard and getting all the information off it before unplugging
it. This means all the GTSE scripts are safe :) as well as other things such as Engines of war and my other projects :)
anywho,
Thats about all from me, this should be my last post as a deck officer cadet, My next post will hopefully be when I am a fully
qualified merchant navy officer :D
Peace out, and still keep killing nazi zombies :P
26th February 2012
Well, Once again, I haven't updated the news section here in
ages, but then to be fair I really Dont think anybody bothers coming on this website anyway :P
So just to clarify what's going on in the magical world of Gary the steam engine... well, it has been
start, stop, start, stop constantly for about 18 months now. Each and every time Ive tried to start something, another thing
has jumped up to shoot it out of the sky!
So, well, lets give you some sort of run over of the last few months.
In November 2011, My grandmother passed away. She was 87 years old, and had been suffering for a while, she is
at peace now. Sadly, this put the future of my model railway days into question, as my layout was built in her attic. Questions
came up as to whether I would have to dismantle the railway permanently, as the house would be sold or what. Fortunately we
have decided not to sell the house, but knock through into it and use the space. (It is built onto my current house).
This means that I do not have to finish my model railway days, however I have now completley demolished the GTSE
OO gauge layout completley. It has now disapered into the history books forever.
Although
its sad to see my hard work vanish, it does give me the opportunity to carry out repairs to the attic, which wernt
possible when the layout was in place.
Now that my studies are completed, I will be at home much more often, which
means I can work more on the layout, which is good. I am now sitting around waiting for my exam, which is booked on the 5th
april, which Ironically is 100 years to the day since Titanic first arrived in Southampton in 1912.
I will then do my orals examination, and as long as I pass, I will be licensed to drive ships of any size and weight
:D
So youve heard this story so many times now, new job, more cash, new computer, new editing software,
New Laptop, New series of Gary the steam engine!!!
So far in 2012, I have had nothing but bad luck, I was sent onboard a ship for
my final sea phase with my shipping company, which sucked so badly :( It was like being in prison :(. 6 weeks of pure boredom.
Then
upon my return, Along with discovering that my 2TB External HDD had become damaged, with it possibly loosing all of my data,
but my desktop PC is completley ruined and will not work. Funny how much can go wrong when you go away for 6 weeks!!!! So
the new PC fund has begun and so far to this date, I have £62.90 dedicated towards a new pc to make and film GTSE with :)
I am on course to try and remedy these issues, but we shall see how well it goes in the next few days.
Engines
of war was expanded and worked upon immensely on the trip at sea, so much so that Im planning on withdrawing the
origional version from fan-fiction and reuploading the new one, there isnt much changes to it, but its minor changes that
will effect the story line.
So, what I can promise you definitely is at least 1 episode of GTSE
in the Summer of 2012, I know it has been so long since we last saw Gary, August 2008 in fact, so I can assure you, If it
really is as good as Im anticipating it to be, then your all in for a real treat :D
In Series 2, We shall be hearing
from the wonderful voice talents of youtubers such as DarkDJ, James Littlewood, ARChronicles, as well as various others who
are yet to be confirmed and auditioned!
Speaking
of these other youtubers, I have to thank them immensley for being so supportive of GTSE in these troubled times, in fact
I think they are all looking forward to its return just as much as I am, if not more! They have all been involved in proof
reading the scripts to find any continuity errors but the scripts still have a little while to go.
so there
you go, thats about the latest as the news gets from me :P
Peace out doods, and KILL THOSE NAZI ZOMBIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
15th December 2011
Wow!
Again I haven't updated this website in months! I have now finished in Warsash completley! I have now got a HND
in Nautical science! I am due to join a ship on the 20th December in Southampton and get my final 6 weeks sea time in. After
that I will do my final exam and become a fully qualified officer :D
Peace and love, And a Merry Christmas to all of you!!!!!
20Th September
2011
Well, various things
have happened over the last month, and various things also haven't happened as expected, So where to begin really?
GTSE Series 2.
I am still waiting for
the major update to be released. This is due out on the 23rd of September which is in a few days, So next week when I am sure
its all up and running I will be able to start work on filming Episode one.
I am thrilled to announce several Staunch supporters
of the GTSE series, who shall be appearing in the series at various points, In episode one, I already have confirmed the voice
talents of:
DDJProductions2011 TheARChronicles Tyler3967
DDJProductions2011 has been a long running supporter of both GTSE and OTH, and following on from our successful crossover
video, have both become supporters of each others series, thus, I shall be voicing in his cracking series of "The Dark Railway
Series", and he shall be voicing several characters in GTSE, which will include some of his own characters making guest appearances.
I look forward to seeing what both of our series and future projects turn out like :)
TheARChronicles has recently finished his 9 Part movie, The Tales of the A & BLR, which has turned
out really well, and definitley deserve taking a look at! I have posted a link to his youtube channel in my links page.
Tyler3967 Is the creator of a very good HO Scale series, Connor and Friends,
which is progressing along quite well, and the quality of his work makes it definitley worth taking a look at!
The previous two voice actors, shall be playing American characters, and although
they will not feature hugely in Episode 1, they shall return in later episodes, so stay tuned if your an American fan, You
will be interested in seeing what I have planned!
I must also go back to railworks, as there someone who
hasnt been credited as much as is deserved, and that is the cracking work of one, Bristolcastle, whos brilliant reskinning
techniques have definitley earned him a place to be credited here!
He
has already completed a reskin of the IHH 9F, to add a nameplate of Gary, for the 92116 model, as well as making reskins of
the magnificent models by Kevin Martin, of the 94XX, and 45xx into BR Liveries which is more correct for the GTSE series.
Young bristolcastle has also spread his talents to creating a model of Dave for
the TDRS for DDJproductions, also adding a nameplate for him. He is definitley the man to see about reskins :P
Theres not really much bad news this month, Other than still waiting on the Update and then the King
class add on pack, which I really hope that they hurry up and release. I have a NARAS course in Mid October, which will demand
150% of my time, as the resit fee if I fail it is £1,200..... So I cannot afford to have any distractions in that week.
I am hoping to get Episode 1 done as soon as possible, although it is still possible
that I may just do the filming now, and take the video to be edited on my next ship. I finish college in December, go back
to sea for 6 weeks and will then sit my finals exams, and hopefully then I shall be a fully qualified 3rd officer :D
But yeah, thats all from me for now.... Southampton sucks...... lmao

Hey Guys, sorry about the lack of updates, not that anybody even visits this website anyways...
Anywho there are some latest
developments in my world, some good, and some bad.
firstly, GTSE Episode 1 will definitley begin production in mid september, The scripts are
finished and have been narrated, Just waiting for DarkDj to do his lines, theres no rush yet of course but I can start filming
very soon.
I
go back to southampton on Sunday 4th September, then on the 8th, the class is buggering off to sweden for a camping/canoeing
trip! thats for 6 days, and then we will be knuckling down with the college course. I am hoping that for at least 2 hours
every night I can get some filming done in railworks.
This is the most frustrating process known to man right now, as Railworks is constantly
giving my the classic "Something bad has happened" error and shuts itself down! This is making filming almost impossible so
im trying to get something sorted for that.
But anyways, yes, the episode will definitley be filmed in september so I imagine that it
will be released at the end of september/early october. Depending on the way the college course is going, I MIGHT film episode
2 before going back to sea, so that I can edit it whilst out at sea.
But by March, I should be a fully qualified officer
in the merchant navy :) so then, I will get a new job and hopefully lots of cashish to throw towards my new PC :D
The other bit of news, is
that I have already begun investing in a burrel 4 inch gauge traction engine.
This has been my ambition for many years, to build
and run my own traction engine. Right now as money is tight, I am just saving for the deposit of £1000, but when I become
a 3rd officer I will be able to save much more. the total cost of the traction engine is £16,000/$20,000 (Roughly)
Hopefully, by the time I begin
building this engine, Im going to be in possesion of a decent HD quality camera so I plan on making a series based on me building
this traction engine. We will have to see how it goes :)
Now for the bad news.
It seems like my oo gauge
days may temporailly over. for the last 10 years I have used the space in my grandmothers attic for my model railways. Sadly,
she is very, very unwell, and it is looking likely that when she does go, the house will be sold on. So my oo gauge stuff
will have to be removed and as I have nowhere to put it, Much of it may possibly be sold, or hopefully just put into store
until the time comes to dig it out again.
and dont worry, Should I have to sell it, I will be making sure that the GTSE fans know
about it :P
The other thing I have forgotten to mention, is the new alliance of series between myself, And Dark DJ Productions,
who is the creator of the up and coming hit series, The Dark Railway series. I have included a link to his website and youtube
page on the Links page.
If I were you, I would head on over there and watch his videos as they are brilliantly well written and created,
he has taught me many thinks about railworks which I didnt know were possible and I am glad to say that each of us will be
having future parts in each others series :)
Also, I must take this oppertunity to thank BristolCastle for providing me with 2 reskins,
one of Gary, the 9F with suitable name plates :) and for 2 reskins of the DT Bullied pacific "Tangmere" one in BR Black, and
the other in BR Blue Livery, and I must say that they both look absoloutley smashing :D
Series 2 of GTSE is on its way chaps!

Well, the last few months have been pretty exhausting, Phase 7 is really starting to get stuck in with the college work,
already finished 3 assignments and got a shed load more coming up!
But hopefully this summer, I might make a start on Episode 1 of the new GTSE series, although with recent developments
it might not happen as planned.
Railworks is once again being upgraded to Railworks 3, train simulator 2012. the new graphics engine does look quite
immense, so Im thinking about waiting until that is out, so that the new series will benefit from the new graphics engine.
honestly guys the new graphics look incredible, there is track camber, rain landing on the windscreens and realistic
shadows and stuff, it really does look the mutts nuts! :D
so yeah, there is naff all else to report right now, hope all is well!

2nd
May 2011.
Well I am back after what can only be described as a disastrous trip
at sea! not a pleasant way to spend near 4 months, being discriminated because of being British. Well the good thing to have
come from this trip is The flight of the phoenix being completed and released on youtube, I am very lucky that it didnt require
much editing for it to be suitable to be uploaded, although there was a 3/4 minute section cut out because of the music being
strictly copyrighted, stupid buggers they are, its not as though Im earning any money from their song anyway!!!!!
So yeah, I managed to get that completed, and it is now fully on youtube.
In other news, I have several videos being created at present from my trip at
sea, this includes 13 hours of filming of the ship transiting the panama canal. I am trying to speed up the video so that
it goes through at around 10X the speed of reality.
Also,
in the 4 months I have been gone there have been some new releases for Railworks. I shall be updating the characters list
for GTSE soon.
I have also been working on the scripts for Gary the
steam engine, however they are not yet complete. I have also started work on my latest project, which is a fan fiction, called
Engines of War. this is the tale of a WD 2-8-0 locomotive that was shipped out to France during the start of the second world
war, and tells his tale. I will be updating this website to show links to this.
Be aware that this fan fiction is rated "Mature" as It contains some pretty brutal scenes, and references
to Nazi ideals and the execution of Jews. so please do read at your own risk. I will not be held responsible if
your child reads it! I have put the rating thingy on Fan fiction as "Mature" But that wont always stop people!
So yeah, Now I shall be moving back into college on May 15th, and will be there
until December 16th! This is my final phase in college. after that, I shall go back to sea for around 2 months, and then come
home, and will be sitting my 3rd officers exam!!!
After
that, the world is my oyster!!!!! :)
Peace and Love! Death and Destruction!
Rhysicus out.
PS:
Osama Bin Laden is dead! :) YAY!
31st December 2010
Well, Ive finally had the call, I am joining
a ship called MV Tarago in Baltimore, Maryland, USA tomorrow evening. I will try and finish me videos, (Flight of the phoenix
and Various Railworks revies) when Im on the trip but my studies are my prime concern.
Last bit of news for the new year, A guy called Karma99
from Uktrainsim is creating a 56xx for Railworks2. So now, Jason shall be appearing in the GTSE Series 2 series, alongside
various other engines :D

Here he Is in all his GWR Glory! :D This will a welcome addition for both the GTSE
fleet but the Railworks fleet as well.
Anywho, that's all from me until around May next year, Have a Very Happy new year guys!
25th December 2010
The Gauntlet has been thrown down. I have issued you with a challenge. You may choose 1, or 2 steam engines, and
take 14 Mark 1 coaches from Bristol Temple meads to Exeter St David s. You can choose any engines you like, as long as they
are steam, and you can only have a maximum of 2 of them.
You must Make a video entry of your run, showing in
that video, what time you have set off, and what time you arrive at Exeter St Davids. Your video must include a clip once
every 10 minutes of your run, showing the local time using the F3 Drivers Aid button.
If you wish to enter, Email
my youtube channel with a link to your video, your name and what locomotive you used, and I shall decide where you come on
the drivers challenge board.
Rules: Dont Crash. Please dont cheat (Ruins the point of the challenge, there
is no Prize by the way) Your train MUST consist of 14 Mark 1 coaches. if you decide to use a continental or American locomotive,
you need to select the override coupling control in the options menu, so you can couple up to the coaches.
Lastly,
PLEASE Include a video clip CLEARLY SHOWING how many coaches you have on your train. Failure to do this, will result in your
entry being disqualified! So please do it!
So the aim of this challenge, Get from Bristol - Exeter AS FAST AS YOU CAN!
HAVE FUN!!!
Watch the Video!

December 2010
Well guys, Dodged a bullet with that one. was supposed
to join a ship on Tuesday, but with the heavy snow, the bad timing (My dog), and the proximity to Christmas, I decided
it would be unwise to go.
So instead, I spent all my frigging money on more railworks
add ons..... OH COCK!
If I can teach you guys anything, its dont spend all
your money on this stupid game....Ive recently found out I have spent very near £600 on it in the last eighteen months....
OH COCK!
Anywho, more news. I have an updated selection of new
characters and stuff for GTSE series 2. Lars is updated with a new BR Green livery, Kat is upgraded to a brand new Pannier
tank model, Arnold has had a paint job, and there are some new characters to be added! I promise you guys, this series will
be worth the wait!!!
And anyway, I expect this is my last post before christmas,
or even 2010, as I could be going to sea again VERY soon, and so, I would like to say from all the crew here at Rhysicus productions,
(Me), Have a VERY Happy Christmas, and have a smashing 2011!!!!
Lots
of love (Not gay love of course)

Well, the last week has been a very strange week.
Latest
on the railworks front, The class 31 pack, and the falmouth branchline pack have been released and the new characters will
be updated on this website.

It is a sad day for me, Today, My family said
goodbye to our Airdale terrier, Cassie. She was aged 13. You'll be sorely missed.

Latest developments
on GTSE. A new route has become available for Railworks, Its the Knotty line, and is available from UKTrainsim.com and is
a free route. It has been decided that the scenes for GTSE will be filmed using this route, as it is very well detailed in
places, it is set in the right Era (1960s) and has the right type of scenery and detail that I would like in the series. Although
the route is set in the North Midlands area, I believe it will do well as the Welsh region of BR!
9Th
December 2010
I Have officially got
tickets to see Lee Evans Live at the Cardiff International Arena Next year!!! :D
Happy Rhysie!
7th December 2010
RSC Have announced that
the Falmouth Branch add on pack for Railworks 2, will be released during this month. This pack includes the GWR
Branch from Truro - Falmouth Docks, in Cornwall, and is set during GWR/BR western region days. It includes a new model of
a 57XX Pannier tank locomotive.
This means, that I can upgrade the Characters in both Over the hills, and GTSE, To much
better quality models. Please note, that there is nothing wrong with the old models I have been using, the reason I am changing
to better quality is to improve the quality of the videos I make. The looks and the sounds on these new models is outstanding,
and I want my series from now on to be as realistic as possible!
I will also be revamping this website to include reviews about
add ons for Railworks, so if you are interested in buying any add ons, you can check out the review I have of it!
Also, I have given a lot of consideration, to
the original series of Over the hills. When I created it, there was a much smaller selection of things available
for Rail simulator. Now, we have a much larger selection of engines and rolling stock available.
Episode 10, Enterprising
is the story surrounding the setting of the speed record by LNER A4 Pacific, Mallard and the untold story of 2 other engines
attempt to break it. During their run, a pregnant lady goes into labour, and the engines dream of setting a speed record for
fame changes to setting it in an emergency, when they have to reach their destination as fast as humanly possible, or both
woman and baby would be in danger. although they failed their speed record attempt, they were prevented from achieving their
goal by the outbreak of WW2.
When I made this episode, it was a good story, but poorly executed during the filming
process. I didn't have the railworks models available to recreate the video properly, and made do with what I had
to hand. Now, with the release of the Tornado, A4 pacific and Flying Scotsman add on packs, I feel that this episode should
be remade.
5th
December 2010
Ok guys,
I have now finished Phase 5 of my HND course, finished the short courses which included First aid at sea, Fire fighting at
sea, Lifeboat and rescue boat training and GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress Signalling System) training. I am now on my last
sea phase, (Phase 6) and in the final leg of training to be an officer of the watch :D.
I have completed filming of The flight of the phoenix, HOWEVER I believe that
now, having purchased several new add on packs, IE the Bristol - Exeter route, I could re film some scenes from the Movie,
as instead of having different locations masquerading as Taunton and Bristol Temple meads, I can use the real thing!
Good news!
So Movie editing shall commence once more
on my sea phase, so you can expect a fully completed movie by the time I return.
With regards to GTSE, I have had several doubts about the scripts of the new series, and decided to hold
off starting it until I have these things sorted out.
1.
Decent quality models and sounds for the characters in the series. 2. Decent routes and sets for the series to be filmed in. 3. Decent Movie and sound editing software. (Bought the full version of Fraps
recently!) 4. MORE MONEY! 5. New and improved scripts for the entire series.
I really want to make this new series something special, something which the original series
wasnt! My intention is to create 12 40 minute - 1 hour long episodes, which tie in with each other story wise. I also plan
to create another couple of series/movies in the coming years.
Walk
the Rails - A series about the exploits of the station staff of Minehead station during the 1960's. (There will be no talking
trains in this).
All over the world - A Movie based on the world
wide tour of GWR 4-6-0 King Edward no 6024, and his fight for the engine he loves, Fame, rivalry and even Survival!
Gods Wonderful Railway - The little engines of the Tallyllyn Railway, but in
a light you have never seen them before. Alcoholic beverages, Drug misuse and the occasional runaway train
make for interesting tales of the worlds first Preserved railway....
Over
the Hills - Series 2 (Same old, but Better :P)
I also have an
idea for another series (Not yet definite) about mainline engines, possibly set in the preservation era.
Like I've said before, Things have been pretty slow for the last few years, but
When I get more money and a steady job, I plan to knock these programs out like never before. RHYSICUS PRODUCTIONS LIVES!!!!
16th september 2010
Wow! This hasnt been updated for like over a year!
Well,
there's a good reason for that. I went to sea on the 16th December 2009, and Came back to the UK on 25th March 2010.
Since returning, I have been studying like crazy in HND Phase 5, which has been very demanding and has meant that I have only
released 1 or 2 parts of the Flight of the phoenix movie.
Please dont panic, Just like Baldrick,
I have a cunning plan!
I have been filming lots of raw footage using my desktop PC, which has been
saved on my hard drive. This will then be taken with me when I go to sea again in December, and I shall be editing it on-board ship
just like I did with the OTH Series. So when I return, You can expect a massive surge of Movie goodness on my youtube channel!
:D
Not only is this happening, But I have been working on the newest series of Gary the steam engine.
I have waited for over 2 years to make a new series of GTSE, and with developments to railworks, that has made this possible.
a 9F, 4MT, and several other engines have been released to be used as GTSE charactors and with the flying scotsman being made
and due for release in November, this looks likley to be a great series.
Im afraid I cant give any
details as to when it will be released as I have no idea. Unfortunatly commitments to my cadetship are the priority at the
moment so video making can only be done when I have nothing else to do.
But yeah, thats about as
exciting as the news gets. Thanks for reading!
20th August 2009
Bloody hell! i just realised that I havnt updated this website for a LONG time. so here are some basic updates.
Since 31st march 2009, I was away at sea onboard the MV Tijuca, the worlds largest RO RO Vessel. I arrived home on the
29th July 2009, and here we go lol!
Right. so now for my real updates.
Whilst at sea, I made Episodes 7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15 of the over the hills series, all of which are now on youtube.
this brings the series to 15 episodes which is awesome :D
as for the movie, this very day I posted the first part of it on youtube and the rest is on its way too.
now, if you enjoy Gary the steam engine, you'll be pleased to know that he is scheduled to return when 2 things happen:
1. the flight of the phoenix movie is finished.
2. Someone releases a 9f and other specific locos for railworks.
but i have several episodes planned, and it'll be 100 times better than before, just wait and see :D
1st march 2009
I have just passed all my exams, which consisted of..
Wet cargo.
Dry Cargo.
Maintainance of the ship and its equipment.
Shipboard working environment.
Bridge and deck watchkeeping.
Ship and Port operations.
Now that they are over, I have had a bit more time to myself, which I have used to create episode 5 of over the hills.
I havnt finished filming yet, due to coming home this weekend, but am hoping to spend a few evenings working on it this weekend.
Thankfully I dont have to do any narrating for it, because I would just look like an idiot in front of my room mate. lol
22nd January 2008
Well, quite a lot has happened in the last month or so.
1. nothing happened while I was working for KFC.
2. Over the hills, episode 4 has been published on youtube.
3. Over the hills, the movie. Its offical.
now, the movie is only by a narrow margin offical. as in, I havnt even finished the script yet.
But other than that,
ALL of the episodes are narrated, the reason for this is because whilst away in southampton, It's going to be pretty
hard to narrate a series when I'm sharing a room with someone. Plus I dont want to make myself out to be a total spack. there
are 11 episodes in the series.
keep posted for more updates
9th December 2008
Ok, so 3 episodes of over the hills have been made, and more are to follow soon. I have been contemplating making
another movie. yes similar to the Gary the steam engine series, but Its still early days yet. we shall see how it pans
out.
Hope your enjoying the episodes.
20th October 2008
Creation of the L&PLR railway has reached a critical point. Rail sim is so far prooving to be the greatest rail simulator
of them all, even though there are one or two little niggles, but hey thats life.
As well as the charactors listed in the trailer video, now that I have discovered how to download new locomotives, there
will be new charactors. heres some of the new locos ive downloaded.
