So, this is the first Railworks review I have done, The video of which is on youtube on the link shown above.

So, In general, this is a cracking add on, the engine handles well, is reasonably well powered, gets up to speed pretty quick, and reacts to the controls in a very satisfying way, it has that certain, Umph feel which you Dont always get with Railworks models. When you open the regulator, you truly feel that you are in command of a steam locomotive, not a computer model. The way the sounds interact with the engines movement, and to how the driver is operating it adds to its realism and keeps you "feeling the engine".

The sounds are cracking, as I mentioned earlier, although when the model was first released the chuffing was rather quiet. This was addressed in an update which was released very quickly. In my opinion, the whistle isnt so great, but it does sound nice, however it is a short toot, rather than a whistle that can be reasonably well manipulated with the space key, such as the RSC Pannier or default 7F whistle.

On the whole, it is an extremely well modelled engine, which definitely has the "Wow" Factor in terms of looks, sounds and feel. Digital Tractions really out did themselves with this one!

For £11.99, you can buy what in my opinion is one of the best steam models available for railworks.

You can Purchase and Download it through steam *HERE*
